Burghead is a small coastal village in the district of Moray, Scotland which was developed during the early 19th century around the remains of an ancient pictish fort. It extends out into the Moray Firth with a sandy beach to the west of around five or so miles and eventually reaches the village of Findhorn. Burghead Caravan Park also has full access to beautiful forest woodland walkways that run adjacent to the beach.
The caravan park faces directly onto the beach and has the village to the north and east.The much larger town and capital of Moray is Elgin which is just a 9 mile drive away. You will find historic buildings, Leisure Centre, Cinema, Bowling Alley and a Shopping Centre with lots of high street names here.
Visitors attractions in Moray which include Distilleries, Historic buildings (including ancient Cathedral ruins,) and Forest Woodland areas are in the surrounding area.
There are a few local hotels in Burghead offering bar lunches and snacks. The village is mainly quiet and tranquil, with no roudy night-life or clubs.
The Village also has a Post Office, Convenience Store, Hairdresser and a recently developed Coffee Shop.
